If you’ve been training your dog, you should already have an idea of the effective training methods. Once you have successfully trained your dog to do several tricks, you should have an idea of its level of intelligence. The time it takes for your dog to learn the tricks does not necessarily equate to its intelligence but it is a good starting point nonetheless. This knowledge should give you an approximate time of how long will your dog learn those new tricks.
Dog Tricks to Impress Your Friends
Owning a dog is a responsibility but it is also fun and exciting. It’s always a good feeling to have someone home excited to see you home after a long day’s work. Your dog will always be there for you and that is what a good bond is. Another fun thing of owning a dog is you can impress your friends with it. You can showcase your dog’s tricks to your friends and they’ll surely be impressed. The usual tricks like sit, roll over and play dead would be enough to impress your friends. Still, you can teach your dogs newer and funner tricks to make it a tad bit more interesting and impressive. Not only will your friends admire your dog but will also admire your patience. Training a dog is a feat after all.
This is not your average trick and it’s hard to pull off. It is basically your dog moving around in frantic or slow pace (depending on its mood) to some beat. You can induce this trick by clapping. Like any other tricks, you do this by doing whatever training methods you know.
The best time to use this is when your dog is jumping on people. Of course, you can use the “sit” command to stop it but it’s a boring trick. A better way would be to direct that energy to another activity, hence the dancing dog trick. Your friends will surely be impressed by this trick if performed properly.
This is a fun trick because it actually funny to see in person. There’s something about pets acting like humans (video link) that makes people go wild. This dog trick is certainly not an exception.
This trick is basically your dog bowing his head between its paws on command. You can use the word “pray” or “say your graces”, whichever you prefer. This trick is both impressive and funny at the same time. Great trick to pull off if you’re trying to impress a girl.
Blow Your Nose
As I’ve said before, there’s just something extra funny about animals acting humans. This is another example of this idea in effect.
Basically, this trick involves your dog blowing its nose on a tissue. Teach your dog how to blow first and associate it with you holding a tissue. This trick ultimately comes together when you put a tissue on your dog’s nose and it begins to blow its nose or mouth. It will look like it’s trying to clean its nose because of a flu. You gotta see this to appreciate this trick.
Turn Off The Lights
Teaching your dog how to turn the lights on and off is easy enough but it is still a good trick to showcase. Same with other tricks, you start by holding a doggy treat on the switch and shouting “turn the lights off!” After several repetitions, your dog will associate this command with the action and you’re good to go.
